"Laughing all the way! All night!"

We had a great contest. The whole night was filled with laughters and chuckles as all of us were truly entertained by all the humorous speech contestants and our insightful evaluation contestants. From our speech champion, Mohd Kamal Surin's blind ('bald') date experience, to Nora Liew's Wet Market 'Ah Sum''s selling technique, to Rafaellia's interpretation of why are we addicted to Korean Drama, to Sophia's women vs beer, to Siva's bad boyfriend's theory and finally, to Kirksman's theory: Why the world is coming to an end! After all these speeches, the audience were literally rolling on the floor because the speeches were too entertaining!

Another highlight of the night is of course the Evaluation Contest. A big thank you to our test speaker, Fia Iskandar with her speech title "pet sisters". You have definitely given the contestants a hard time writing their evaluation because all of them were thinking of their pet sisters/brothers after your speech! As for the Evaluation Contestants, a job well done for being able to gather all your thoughts in just FIVE minutes! WELL DONE to all 7 contestants: Shahar Banon, Jasmine Leong, Mohd Kamal Surin, Kirksman Teo, Nanthakumar Kumaresan, Sivakumar Kumaresan & Sophia Hong, ! You guys have definitely make Fia improved 7 times better!

Last but not least, a big thank you to all the role players for making this contest a huge success! And once again, Congratulations to our champions.

Our champions (Mohd Kamal Surin - Humorous Speech Champion and Shahar Banon - Evaluation Champion) will be representing our club to compete at a higher level, the Area K1 Contest on 7th October 2011 at Politeknik Auditorium, Sepanggar! Please support our champions. Tickets are at RM18.00 per person only.

Till then, I hope to see you there.

A huge round of applause to all 6 International Speech contestants and 5 Table Topics contestants! Winners of KKTMC Club Level Humorous Speech & Speech Evaluation Contest
Our Humorous Speech contestants had us all in stitches they surprised us with humour after humour in their well-crafted and speeches. Joanna Liew stole all our hearts (especially the men’s!) as revealed secrets to understanding women and decoding the Women’s Code, adding that it is even tougher to crack than the Da Vinci Code! First-timer contestant Lily Chin ultimately surprised us (and even herself!) with her innate ability to inject humour in her speech. For someone so serious and concerned about not being funny enough for a humorous speech contest, her unassuming ‘poker face’ and strategically placed jokes had us roaring with laughter throughout her speech. Our other first-timer contestants Melissa Jilimin, Sophia Hong and Clive Chai did a splendid job braving one of Toastmasters toughest contests and showing us that they too have a funny side! We look forward to hearing more funny stories from you in the future or even Contests to come, now that you realise that nothing is impossible. There’s no stopping you now!

Evaluation Contest Test Speaker was our young ‘Professor Boy’ TM Wesley Koh, who presented his CC3 speech by role playing as a Physics teacher. Thank you, Wesley, for saying ‘yes’ to being evaluated by not one but five evaluators. I believe the person who gained most is you! Sivakumar’s calm and poised but very well rounded evaluation won the judges votes. Siva’s use of his senses eyes, ears, mind and heart proved that he can produce and evaluation that is honest, practical and encouraging. However, all other contestants Ronald Tang, Kevin Lim, Melissa Jilimin and Jamie Chieng did a brilliant job gathering their thoughts under pressure and being able to come up with such insightful evaluations in just 5 minutes.
