What happened in Sibu Convention 3-4 May 2013?

Hi Everyone,

Whoooh! The last Sibu Convention does seem quite long ago after a couple of very emotional days felt throughout the nation after our last GE, and it's time for some GOOD NEWS!! :)

Focusing back to our club's on-goings, around 15 of us from KKTMC had travelled to the land of Sibu, a small city in Sarawak, to attend our District 87's 2nd Annual Convention!

Despite having a shorter 2-day convention, it was still filled with fun laughters, camaraderie with Toastmasters of D87, Inspiring educational workshops, and lip-smacking good food!

Well of course, the highlight of the event was the District Level International Speech and Table Topics Contests! Our representative, Intan Salwana Anis, did us so proud, when she brought home a silver trophy!! She worked very hard on her speech and we've seen our dearest Intan progressing so much in her speeches.

I believe I speak on behalf of all KKTMC members, that you're already a champion to us all. Keep it up, Intan!! :)

On Gala Night, it is customary to recognize new DTMs for the District! Needless to say, KKTMC's 17th DTM, Jasmine Leong received her well-deserved award with grace and poise.

And with all talented, brilliant, dedicated and committed team players and members, KKTMC had successfully achieved President's Distinguished Club status before 30 April 2013! We were also recognized on stage, but what made us different? We had to cheer the loudest, of course!!

Overall, we had a wonderful time! The next District Semi-Annual Convention will be in Medan, Indonesia, in November 2013. Will you join us there?

Till then, feast your eyes with the photos that will be posted and shared on Facebook!

Yours in Toastmasters,
Jamie
